| Tips for Students Traveling Abroad |  Though the majority of trips overseas are trouble free, you should be still prepared to avoid the opportunity of serious problem. Here are some tips for you to avoid different problems while traveling abroad.
1. Take care you have a signed, suitable passport and visas, if it is necessary. Furthermore, before you go, fill in the emergency information page of your passport.
2. Examine the Consular Information Sheets (and Public Announcements or Travel Warnings, if appropriate) for the countries you are going to visit.
3. Leave copies of your route, passport data page and visas with family or friends at home in order to make contact with you in case of an emergency. Keep your host program knowledgeable of your location.
4. Take care you have insurance that will cover your emergency medical needs (together with medical mass departure) at the same time as you are in a foreign country. Travel insurance may be essential if your present health insurance does not cover you abroad.
5. Make acquainted yourself with local laws and traditions of the countries to which you are going to travel. Keep in mind, while out of the country, you are subject to the laws of the country you travel to.
6. Do not leave your luggage unattended in public places and never accept packages from strangers.
7. Avoid using illegal drugs or drinking extreme amounts of alcoholic drinks, and associating with people who do.
8. Do not turn out to be a target for steals by wearing noticeable clothing and expensive jewelry and do not take too much cash or needless credit cards.
9. Contract merely with authorized agents when you exchange money to avoid violating local laws.
10. Avoid demonstrations and other situations that may become unruly.
