| Student Travel Discounts | After all the hard work of study, writing assignments, lectures and trying to maintain your social life, you'll need a wonderful vacation... but then comes the issue of funding that getaway. As students, we want to spend an amazing holiday but we don't have a lot of money. There are plenty of student discounts out there, but which ones are best when it comes to great holidays?
1. Grab yourself an ISIC card (International Student Identity Card). You can learn more about it through your college or university or sign up for this online. You will get discounts all over the world at thousands of various locations such as online stores, restaurants, transport, sport venues, retail stores, entertainment venues and museums and cultural venues. There is a small charge to receive an ISIC card. Nevertheless, if you use it enough, you will compensate the initial cost in no time. If you don't have or want an ISIC card, make sure to flash your student card everywhere you go and ask for a discount.
2. Check out STA travel. They are the student travel experts and offer good discounts and specials that are only for people who have ISIC card or a valid student card. They can provide you with all the information you'll need about working holidays, some of the cheapest holidays around. They can design international and domestic fares and also discounted 'round-the-world fares. They are able to design discounted accommodation and tours and also hire a car for you. This can all be done online but if you would like to have the face-to-face approach, they have a lot of retail outlets all around the world.
3. Book early or book late. Booking early can frequently give you great discounts on airfares, but the later you leave it to book your airfare the more expensive it will be. Booking accommodation is almost the exact opposite; there are hundreds of websites that propose great last-minute accommodation deals. You can find rooms for up to and under half price depending on how close to your stay you book. It is not recommended to select last-minute bookings if you are visiting a location for a famous event as hotels may well be fully booked out. Simply use a Google search to find out about the location you want to visit. Your options will be endless, but always check out the website of the hotel or hotels you are interested in as they will probably propose a similar discount without the middleman and fees associated with that.
