| Volunteer Abroad | Volunteerism is a safe, enjoyable and rewarding way of traveling for students. You get a chance to gain a wide experience and get more impressions than regular tourist. It is easy to find a volunteer program you like; program offers usually come from all fields of life (from one week building a sustainable fuel-efficient stove to 1 year spend in African jungles). If you are a sociable person and like to communicate and share your thoughts with others, join an expedition team on different focuses like teaching, savanna researches or marine preservation. It is an education of a lifetime.
There are hundreds of righteous volunteering programs which work worldwide in partnership with humanitarian projects. You can find a volunteer project in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. Such programs helps to get a deep knowledge of a certain area, work in the most remote parts of the planet, experience a foreign culture as a visitor and as a local.
There are 2 kinds of volunteering abroad programs: 1. Volunteer and travel at the same time. You will be in charge of establishing close links in a village community while getting acquainted with the country. 2. Volunteer and then travel. Half of program time you spend on volunteering and another on traveling and experiencing the country. Traveling details: - Accommodation depends on the project you have chosen. It varies from huts built in national parks to hostels. - Food. Mostly meals consist of dishes from local cuisine, healthy and of the high standard. But you can always ask to consider your dietary requirements. - Volunteer’s task is challenging. It allows students to be able to look back at the end of their program and say “I have made a life-changing positive difference to this environment”. (For example, once one team planted more than 6000trees in two weeks). - Project leaders are passionate, intelligent and responsible. They are hired carefully and trained to be professionals with experience in group leadership.
