The demand is growing on everything from an hour yoga session in your town to a month long visiting of Asia. Yoga sessions are offered at most nature resorts. They are held by different people from fitness gurus to local yoga teachers.
Yoga and meditation skills need to be learned and practicing carefully and this process takes much time. But if you are a beginner you shouldn’t worry as many activities are available for everybody. The best thing you can do to prepare yourself for a yoga trip is to practice. So you can take weekly classes at your local gym or try to do it in front of your DVD.
You have to keep fit to do yoga, but it is not obligatory to be in perfect shape. Most yoga activities require strength and flexibility. Do not overdo. It is possible to get unpleasant injuries because of over testing the limits of your flexibility. You should maintain your energy while yoga vacation, so try to drink lots of water and eat well-balanced meals. Most spiritual resorts offer only health organic food or exclusively vegetarian dishes. In case you are not used to such diet, try such food in a vegetarian restaurant in your town before the trip to know what to expect.
Yoga does not require any special equipment. Still, remember to provide yourself with pure water, map, sunscreen and camera. There are no any requirement for yoga clothe, you can choose either specially designed for yoga training suit or just pick up something light, non-constricting and airy from your cupboard.
Things to remember about spiritual vacation: 1. Communication. Keep in your mind that you should stay away from all connections to your home and routine life if you want to enjoy your trip and get good emotional results. This may mean ignoring all phone calls and emails. In some places like ashram you have give oath not to use phone while staying there. 2. Food and water. For sure you don’t want to get sick during your vocation. So it is better to drink only filtered or bottled water, stay away from street food and try to visit restaurants popular among locals. 3. Medicine. Vaccination for malaria and yellow fever is necessary in the Americas, Africa and Asia. 4. Ashrams. You can stay at ashrams and monasteries in Asia for free, but you will be expected to take part in daily assignments which can differ from sweeping to removing scorpions from dark corners. Such places want you to become a part of the community there. Make sure you check all rules before entering an ashram.
